Grasp the game of golf and shoot low scores briskly

Let’s have a look at the basics of the golf swing and what I mean by the pre-swing before you start spending to much time at the driving range without improving your golf swing or golf score.

You can’t afford to get the grip wrong – if you do it will cause the ball to travel to places where it will be impossible for you to par,or birdie the hole. An improper grip will cause the club head to impact the ball at the wrong angle of attack. A poor grip may also negatively affect your swing and balance because we can tend to compensate for a poor grip by wrongly adjusting our alignment and shoulder turn. For a right handed player, can you not see any of your left hand knuckles as your look down on your grip? Is the tension of your grip too tight or too loose? Are you not holding the club in your fingers but instead in the palm of your hands? These are questions you should be asking yourself.

Setting Up to hit the golf ball – Your stance to the ball can ruin your golf shots if you get it wrong! An incorrect address will have you hitting the ball to the wrong places to improve your golf score! At address you may be too close to the ball therefore inhibiting your swing, too far from the ball causing you to stretch. You may slouch over the ball too much. You may even dribble over the ball but if your address isn’t correct then you may as well dribble over your scorecard. How far do you stand from the ball? Are your feet, shoulders, hips and club face aligned to the target? Is your balance correct- the weight of your body should be more on the balls and middle of your feet rather than your heels. Is your body weight evenly balanced between your left and right feet? Ask yourself these questions.

Your Ball Position in stance – Your ball position is so critical to the destiny of your shot! Quite simply if the ball is too far forward in your stance or too far back then not only does that induce a slice or a push but can cause the rest of your swing and your stance to over compensate and therefore go horribly wrong. For a right handed player are you adjusting your ball position correctly in relation to your left heel and distance from your body as you go up or down in club? Ask yourself these questions.

How to Drive the Ball Long and Straight – Last but not least you need to learn how to drive the golf ball. Remember that the driver swing is just an extension of the shorter swings like the wedges. Be sure to stay loose and keep a light grip as this will help to promote a relaxed and tension free body which helps to promote the mechanics of the golf swing. Be sure to get the right kind of driver for your swing. If you have a high club head speed over 115 mph then go for a stiff shaft flex and a loft under 9 degrees. If your club head speed is less than 100 mph then stick with the regular flex with a loft greater than 10 degrees.

Who’s the the cutest baby on the planet?

Now, before you start thinking that I’m full of myself, let me explain what this is really all about.

In a blog post I made, I talked about the need for your site to actually be related to the links that point to it. One example I gave was the cutest baby on the planet search phrase, versus the miserable failure search phrase.

In the past, searching for “miserable failure” brought up a completely unrelated web page. Due to Google’s new algorithm that does away with the “Google bomb” or “link bomb” effect, that is no longer the case.

My post discussed why this doesn’t work anymore.

In one of the comments on that post, Alex Newell suggested that I setup a site and try to get it to rank for the phrase “the coolest baby on the planet”, using the site to test various linking strategies and methods, etc.

Thus my cutest baby in the world site was born.

What I am attempting to prove is that by following the directions Google gives in its Webmaster Guidelines, you can rank a site for a keyword phrase using 100% “white hat” methods.

In the pages of the site you will see outlined the methods I am using, and the progress I am making in implementing each of the steps from Google’s guidelines.

As of right now, the site is ranked #1 in Google for “the coolest baby on the planet”, but I also want to be ranked #1 for “cutest baby in the world”, so I’m still working on it.

These baby tubs have a little plug-hole on the bottom and the water can easily be drained out into the main bath.  You can sit on a chair or kneel beside the bath-tub and bathe baby this way.  However, because they are extra wide, they are a bit of a nuisance to store.  You could just leave it in your own bath as to save on storage space.

1) Lighting is your best and cheapest defence against burglaries. If a burglar can be seen it’s much more risky for them to target your house. Neighbours and passerbys could potentially see them and notify the police. Use an energy efficient compact fluorescent bulb in your front and rear porch light and leave them on all nite. You can automate this by connecting them to a timer or photocell.

2) Make sure your house is not hidden from view. At least make sure that your front door can be seen from the street. Clear away overgrown shrubbery from the front of your house. Don’t give potential burglars anything that they can use to conceal their activities.

3) Install motion sensors to light up the dark areas of your property. There’s nothing more startling to someone approaching your home to be suddenly bathed in light. Motion sensors are very cheap and can be installed easily in existing or new light outlets. They can be set to stay on for a set period of time when triggered by motion.

4) When you go on vacation, connect some lamps in your home to plugin timers. Some timers allow you to set multiple on/off events every 24 hours. Due to a rather picturesque range of neurological disorders, not to mention the increasing effects of advancing age, I have become sort of less mobile than I was in my younger days. Where I used to be able to briskly walk for hours and hours, I now move slowly at a tortoises pace, for a maximum of one hour, leaning on either a cane or a crutch – depending on how I happen to function that day. But I refuse to complain: there’s nothing I truly lack in my life, and diminished mobility doesn’t usually bother me.

Anyway, for the longer journeys I nowadays use a mobility scooter, which kind of makes me feel like a prince or even a sultan! Relaxedly sitting in a cusioned seat, pleasantly but never haughtly greeting the breathless passers-by, I zip along at either walking pace or double speed. When I feel relaxed I “walk”, when I actually need to be somewhere in time I rev up the little machine.

There are many people much worse off than me, when it comes to physical capabilities. I can, though with difficulty, still walk – many others can’t. Especially for those the mobility scooter is a great support, enabling them to be mobile again. There are 3-wheel mobility scooters and 4-wheel mobility scooters, and if you happen to be considering buying such a machine, I would recommend the 3-wheeled variety. They are somewhat more manoeuvrable on account of their tighter turning radius, which is a definite advantage in crowded or cramped areas. I also would recommend to go for batteries with a lot of capacity: it’s not only unpleasant but also quite embarassing to find yourself without of juice when a long way from home!

Apart from mobility scooters, there are many more contraptions and inventions that make the life of the handicapped much more pleasant. Stairlifts, bed lifts, electrically powered wheelchairs, walkers… they all serve to make life much more pleasant for the handicapped.
